Affordable Online Interior Design

When you’re working through a home project, renovating or redecorating you have a lot of decisions to make! And it can be daunting trying to make countless decisions on your own. And even if you have a partner to share the decision-making load with, two heads are not always better than one. Disagreements or self-doubt are the last thing you need when you’re already under pressure and finding it hard.

Wouldn’t it be helpful to be able to sit down and talk through all your concerns, ideas, thoughts and questions with a friendly interior designer?  

I thought so. This is why I created my Design Surgery, an affordable online interior design service. A one-off in-depth design consultation where you can ask me anything and I will help you!

It’s pretty simple but let’s get into the detail.

What is a Design Surgery?

An affordable online interior design consultation where you get to pick my brains and I get to help you with any interior design project, questions or decisions you are struggling with right now. It’s a ninety-minute session which gives us plenty of time to get to know each other and work through all the elements of your project that you want to discuss.

What can you help me with? 

Pretty much anything you are struggling with. These are the most common areas I help people with.

• Working out your design style.
• Selecting paint colours.
• Creating colour schemes.
• Selecting fixtures and fittings such as flooring and tiles.
• Choosing kitchen/bathroom colours & finishes. 
• Lighting plans and selection of light fittings.
• How to add character and visual interest.
• Feature walls.
• Position and size of artwork.
• Rug placement.
• Choosing the best style of window treatments.
• Support with questions builders are firing at you. 
• Settling indecision between couples.

How do we prepare for the session? 

In advance of the session, I will send you a questionnaire to complete which tells me all about you and your project and what you are looking for support with. I will also ask you to upload any documents that will help me prepare, and help you get the best out of the session. This gives you the chance to send me…

• Photos and videos. 
• Floor plans.
• Architect or builder’s drawings. 
• Kitchen/bathroom designs.
• Renderings. 
• Any mood boards or visual tools you have created.
• Links of any products you are considering. 
• Links to samples I can order. 
• Anything else you want to send me. 

Once I have all this I can spend time preparing for our session.

Is there any follow-up after our session?

Yes! I will send you a comprehensive write-up of everything we have discussed. It will be very detailed so you don’t need to worry about making any notes during our session. It will also include any relevant images to visually demonstrate the design concepts we talked through.

I will also check in with you a few weeks later to see if you have any follow-up questions I can help you with.

How do I book?

You can follow this link and book your preferred slot. If you would like me to order samples of any finishes you have selected or are considering then it’s best to book a session well in advance so you can send me all the relevant information and I can get them ordered.

Can I meet you before I book?

Yes! Absolutely. If you are not sure if the service is right for you or if the areas you want to cover are suitable to do online then book a free discovery call with me and we can chat about your project and work out what’s best for you.

Is there anything you can’t help with?

Yes. If you want support with layout and furniture arrangements then to best advise you I need to know the exact dimensions of the space and your existing furniture, so I have a Room Planner service for this, you can check that out here.

I don’t help with sourcing specific products for your project as we don’t have time to do that in the ninety minutes, but I give you guidance on how to do this yourself. 

I also don’t help with anything structural, electrical, gas, plumbing, heating, or appliance-related. 

And finally, sometimes you just need to see things in real life. If I think the elements you want to discuss aren’t do-able online then I will let you know.
