The following definitions shall apply to these Room Planner terms & conditions.
1.1 Paper Room Creative refers to the interior design business trading under that name, whose business address is 12 Cobbett Road, Southampton, SO181HH.
1.2 The designer refers to Sarah Partington, owner of Paper Room Creative.
1.3 The client refers to the individual who has accepted the terms and conditions during the booking process.
1.4 Consultation refers to the Zoom meeting where the designer and client meet to create the brief for the project.
1.5 Room questionnaire refers to the information the client submits about their room.
2.1 The client will receive guidance on how to upload their images and/or videos and room dimensions.
2.2 The client will have up to sixty minutes consultation time via Zoom with the designer to discuss their brief.
2.3 The designer will provide the client with a PDF document showing up to three layout variations for the room which will be presented as 2D floor plans showing the placement of; the furniture, larger accessories such as rugs and artwork, wall lights, ceiling pendants, floor lamps and table lamps. Descriptive text is also provided which will explain in detail the benefits and compromises of each layout variation. The designer will also images, where appropriate to demonstrate any design concepts referred to in the presentation.
2.4 The designer will also provide the optimum dimensions for the key items of furniture and larger accessories for whichever of the layout options the client selects as their preferred choice.
3.1 This service cannot be applied to bathrooms, kitchens, commercial spaces, rooms requiring specialist equipment, rooms requiring new gas and/or plumbing supply.
3.2 This service cannot be applied to rooms larger than 24 square metres. We have our Room Planner + service for that.
3.3 The designer cannot provide any professional advice on structural elements such as moving doors, windows, walls, radiators or heating appliances that require a gas supply and/or a chimney flue. However, if the client is making structural changes to the property and has professional architect drawings the designer is happy to work from these.
3.4 Some rooms that have particular quirks or anomalies may not be suitable for this remote service. The designer, therefore, reserves the right to refuse or cancel any client that has a room the designer feels is not suited to this remote, online service, for whatever reason.
The designer will always aim to be as helpful and as flexible as possible but to deliver this service to the standard we strive for, clients are required to fulfil the following responsibilities.
4.1 Fully complete and submit both questionnaires within a reasonable timeframe. If the client fails to respond and this causes the consultation to be rearranged, the designer reserves the right to charge a rescheduling fee.
4.2 Provide accurate dimensions that adhere to all the guidance provided by the designer.
4.3 Advise the designer of their preferred layout option so the designer can provide the optimum dimensions for the key items of furniture and larger accessories. If the client does not inform the designer of their preferred choice, and the designer cannot make contact with the client to get this information within three weeks of the client receiving their design, the designer will proceed to complete the service by providing the furniture and accessory dimensions for their own recommended layout.
5.1 A fee of £220 is charged at the point of booking and is not subject to VAT.
5.2 The designer reserves the right to charge a rescheduling fee of £40 if the consultation has to be rescheduled as a result of the client not providing the requested information in the relevant timeframe (see 4.1).
6.1 The client is entitled to reschedule their consultation provided they give at least 24 hours’ notice. They should email the designer to request this and change their appointment.
6.2 The client is entitled to cancel the service and receive a full refund provided they have not yet completed the room questionnaire stage. The client should contact the designer via email or phone call to request this and the refund will be processed.
6.3 The client is entitled to cancel the service and receive a 75% refund if they have completed the room questionnaire but their consultation has not yet taken place. The client should contact the designer via email or phone call to request this and the refund will be processed.
6.4 If the client cancels the service after the consultation has taken place they are not entitled to any refund.
6.5 Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase and can take up to 14 days.
Paper Room Creative and/or the designer cannot accept liability for any of the following;
7.1 Inaccurate dimensions provided by the client.
7.2 Information or advice that becomes irrelevant or inaccurate when applied outside of the UK. Our designer is qualified and experienced within the UK only and this service is intended for UK residents.
7.3 Losses the client may incur as a result of purchasing any furniture or accessories for their room.
7.4 Inaccurate images, descriptions or dimensions on any third-party website the designer may reference in their presentation.
7.5 Failure to fulfil, or delayed fulfilment of this service that is caused by events beyond their reasonable control.
8.1 Paper Room Creative shall retain the intellectual property of any documents produced by Paper Room Creative.
