Room Fix Terms & Conditions

1.0 DEFINITIONS

The following definitions shall apply to these Room Fix terms & conditions.

1.1 Paper Room Creative refers to the interior design business trading under that name, whose business address is 12 Cobbett Road, Southampton, SO181HH.

1.2 The designer refers to Sarah Partington, owner of Paper Room Creative.

1.3 The client refers to the individual who has accepted the terms and conditions during the booking process.

2.0 ROOM FIX SERVICE

2.1 This service is a remote service where a video of up to 20 minutes and a PDF presentation are emailed to the client to provide detailed feedback on a single room within their home.

2.2 The client may also purchase a Room Fix Follow-Up. This is a separate remote service providing a video of up to 10 minutes to answer follow-up questions relating to the original Room Fix recommendations.

2.3 The Room Fix Follow-Up is intended to clarify or expand upon advice already provided as part of the original Room Fix service. It does not include a new room review, a new PDF presentation or a complete reassessment of the room.

2.4 The Room Fix Follow-Up must relate to the same room and design project covered by the original Room Fix service.

3.0 EXAMPLES OF WHAT WE CAN HELP WITH

3.1 Feedback on why the room isn’t working and what to change.

3.2 Guidance on layout and furniture placement if the client provides a floor plan and approximate dimensions.

3.3 Guidance on the lighting scheme.

3.4 Guidance on the colour scheme and paint colours.

3.5 Guidance on how to choose the right furniture for the room.

3.6 Guidance on accessories and styling such as window treatments, cushions, rugs and artwork.

3.7 Feedback on the client’s own design ideas and decisions to provide the reassurance (or redirection) they need.

4.0 WHAT WE CANNOT HELP WITH

We always strive to be as helpful as possible, but within your 20-minute video, we cannot:

4.1 Source specific products or items on the client’s behalf – But we can guide the client on what to look for and how to source their own products.

4.2 Create technical drawings of proposed room layouts/furniture placement.

4.3 Offer advice on structural, building, heating, gas, plumbing or electrical elements.

4.4 Provide any advice relating to commercial interior design (this service is for residential homes only).

4.5 Give advice on anything that is too hard to gauge online – Because sometimes you just need to see things in real life!

5.0 CLIENT’S RESPONSIBILITIES

5.1 The client is responsible for providing the designer with all requested information, including the completed questionnaire, photographs and any other information required to carry out the Room Fix service.

5.2 The client must provide the requested information within 7 days of receiving the questionnaire.

5.3 Room Fix services are limited in number and each booking reserves time in the designer’s schedule to review the client’s information, prepare the PDF presentation and record the video. For this reason, bookings cannot be held indefinitely while awaiting the information required to provide the service.

5.4 If the client has not provided the requested information by the fifth day after receiving the questionnaire, the designer will contact the client to remind them that the information is outstanding.

5.5 If the requested information has still not been provided by the end of the 7-day period, the designer reserves the right to cancel the service and release the reserved time in their schedule.

5.6 Where a service is cancelled because the client has not provided the required information within the agreed timeframe, the client will receive a full refund.

5.7 Where the client purchases a Room Fix Follow-Up, they are responsible for providing the designer with their follow-up questions and any other information requested in order to provide the service.

5.8 The client must provide their follow-up questions and requested information within 7 days of receiving the Follow-Up questionnaire.

5.9 Room Fix Follow-Up services are limited in number and each booking reserves time in the designer’s schedule to review the client’s questions and prepare and record the follow-up video. For this reason, Follow-Up bookings cannot be held indefinitely while awaiting the information required to provide the service.

5.10 If the client has not provided their follow-up questions by the fifth day after receiving the Follow-Up questionnaire, the designer will contact the client to remind them that the information is outstanding.

5.11 If the requested information has still not been provided by the end of the 7-day period, the designer reserves the right to cancel the Follow-Up and release the reserved time in their schedule.

5.12 Where a Follow-Up is cancelled because the client has not provided the required information within the agreed timeframe, the client will receive a full refund.

6.0 FEES

6.1 A fee of £140 is charged at the point of booking and is not subject to VAT.

6.2 The Room Fix Follow-Up is charged separately at the price displayed at the time of booking and is not subject to VAT.

7.0 CANCELLATION & 14-DAY COOLING-OFF PERIOD

7.1 Where the client purchases the Room Fix service online, the client has a statutory 14-day cooling-off period in which they may cancel the service without giving a reason, subject to applicable consumer law.

7.2 The client can do this by contacting the designer by email and clearly stating that they wish to cancel the service.

7.3 Where the designer has not yet begun work on the Room Fix, the designer will provide a full refund.

7.4 By completing the questionnaire and ticking the relevant box, the client expressly requests that the Room Fix service begins during the 14-day cooling-off period and acknowledges that, if they subsequently cancel before the service has been completed, they may receive a partial refund determined on a reasonable and proportionate basis, taking into account the work already carried out.

7.5 Where the Room Fix service has been fully completed following the client’s express request for the service to begin during the 14-day cooling-off period, the client has acknowledged that they will lose their right to cancel once the service has been fully performed; the statutory right to cancel will no longer apply.

7.6 Outside of the 14-day cooling-off period, the client may request cancellation by contacting the designer by email. Where the designer has not yet begun work on the Room Fix, the designer will provide a full refund.

7.7 Once the designer has begun work on the Room Fix, any refund following cancellation will be determined on a reasonable and proportionate basis, taking into account the work already carried out.

7.8 Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase and will be processed within 14 days where a refund is due.

7.9 The designer reserves the right to cancel the service where circumstances genuinely prevent the service from being provided. In such cases, where the client is not at fault, the client will receive a full refund.

7.10 Where the Room Fix Follow-Up is purchased online, the client has a statutory 14-day cooling-off period in which they may cancel the Follow-Up without giving a reason, subject to applicable consumer law.

7.11 Where the client expressly requests that the Follow-Up begins during the 14-day cooling-off period, they acknowledge that if they subsequently cancel before the Follow-Up has been completed, they may receive a partial refund proportionate to the service supplied up to the point of cancellation.

7.12 Where the Follow-Up has been fully completed following the client’s express request for the service to begin during the 14-day cooling-off period, and the client has acknowledged that they will lose their right to cancel once the service has been fully performed, the statutory right to cancel will no longer apply.

7.13 Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase and will be processed within 14 days where a refund is due.
